In 1987, Mrs. Ladaplin War conceived the idea of starting a school where students could experience all-around development—mind, body, and spirit. She shared this vision with Mr. Jerlie E. Tariang, who wholeheartedly supported the initiative. Together with his wife, Mrs. Bisiliant War, they established Cherished Buds School on March 1st, 1994. The founders envisioned a school where students would grow not only academically but also spiritually and emotionally, nurturing the whole person. With just a few students and two teachers, the school started its journey under the motto, "In Pursuit of Excellence."
From its small beginnings, the school has steadily grown and earned recognition from the Meghalaya School Board of Education. In 2009, it gained official recognition, and in 2015, it became fully affiliated. The school has been a pillar in the community, providing free education to underprivileged children through the Bajop Fluer Memorial Scholarship Scheme. The school also emphasizes physical development and co-curricular activities, offering music classes, sports, and professional counseling services for its students.
Over the years, Cherished Buds School has grown into a vibrant institution serving 300 students, guided by 23 dedicated teachers. Our mission is to cultivate a deep sense of understanding, compassion, and leadership in our students, grounded in strong Christian values. We aim to prepare our students to face the challenges of the modern world with resilience, creativity, and faith.
